Barbara Boxer is on to us, chums. Last evening, California's junior senator appeared on MSNBC and averred that those of us protesting the Democrats' health care reform are far too well-dressed to be authentic.
Alas, I knew I should have left my spats and walking stick back at the manor.
"I saw some of the clips of people storming these townhall meetings," multi-millionaire Sen. Boxer told multi-millionaire Chris Matthews.
"The last time I saw well-dressed people doing this, was when Al Gore asked me to go down to Florida when they were recounting the ballots, and I was confronted with the same type of people. They were there screaming and yelling, 'Go back to California! Get out of here!' and all the rest of it."
It's one thing to be assaulted by the rabble, but quite another to be mobbed by fellow Ivy Stylers. Poor, poor Babs.
Ne'ertheless, if we conservatives are going to make any headway, we need to stop looking so damnably fashionable. A bit of subterfuge is in order, lads!
To that end, Exurban League has assembled a sartorial tip sheet for our fellow greedy plutocrats. Leave the Brooks Brothers in the closet and don some authentic protest wear._
Sur les barricades, mes frères!_
